Understanding Organic SEO

In the old days of the internet, there were no Organic SEO Consultants, automated systems or all that advanced technology. A few years ago the term ‘Search Engine Optimization’ did not even exist! Website owners struggled with ways and means to get much-needed hits to their website (let alone if it was not targeted) to hopefully generate the necessary revenue.

Organic SEO still refers to the processes and strategies that are being taken to optimize a website, so that it gets good relevance classifications based on the keywords on which the site responds. The only difference between organic SEO and the SEO we now know is that organic SEO is a manual process versus the current automated page submission and change processes that characterize ‘modern’ SEO. Organic SEO focuses on promoting websites on the results of the Natural search engine, also known as organic results, as opposed to sponsored links (Pay-Per-Click / PPC). Organic SEO, if you really think about a “purist” approach to website optimization because nothing is a “black box”. As an expert in organic SEO, you know optimization; you do not just trust it blindly.

Organic SEO is believed to be under  some fundamental concepts, including:

• Search engines and how they work

It is clear that you can not practice organic SEO if you do not even know how the first two letters of SEO (ie, Search Engine) work. A search engine is a website that offers the visitor a list of recommended websites, based on a specific keyword or specific keywords. The ranking of a website is statistically determined by what is called “keyword density” or the ratio of keywords to the total number of words of content in a website. Incoming links and their relevance is another factor that determines your ranking. The collector of this statistical data is a so-called “spider” or “spider-bot”, which is a program whose function is to count the number of times a keyword appears in a website via a process called “crawling”.

• Search Engine optimization

You can not have organic SEO without the SEO section, which stands for Search Engine Optimization. The main purpose of SEO is simple: bring as many visitors to your website as possible by influencing the search engine to place your website as close as possible to the top of the list. As a result of more visitors, it is hoped that your website will generate business for you. This result is the clear degree of success of every organic SEO practitioner.

• Viral marketing

This is an important concept to understand if you want to become a good organic SEO expert. Viral marketing is a strategy to exponentially increase the number of visitors to your website from a small base that you have developed from your original organic SEO strategy. An example of Viral Marketing is to offer visitors of your website the opportunity to generate income on their own website by simply entering the link of your website so that when people visit their website, chances are that they visit your website. This strategy is certainly a useful part of the arsenal of an organic SEO practitioner.

• Optimized domain names

One of the simplest concepts to understand, but also one that is not so easy to implement. Obtaining a keyword-rich domain name is the dream of every Organic SEO consultant because it carries so much weight on the scale of relevance. If your domain name is exactly what you sell, you can sail smoothly without too many problems on the ranking. The problem is of course that there is a good chance that the ‘good’ domain names belong to someone and this makes the organic SEO specialist life more difficult.

• Keyword research

This is the first step on the list of tasks for an SEO practitioner because it plays an important role in determining your optimization strategy. Since it takes months for an optimization strategy to take effect, the efforts of an organic SEO expert are wasted if he makes the mistake of optimizing a website based on unpopular keywords.

Becoming an organic SEO specialist is not an easy task because it requires a thorough knowledge of the fundamentals that those who use automated systems take for granted. However, there is a big advantage of organic SEO versus the ‘lazy man’s’ SEO: a clear understanding of the concepts enables you to analyze SEO situations more accurately and come up with strategies that are better tailored to the needs of your website.
